Photo District News Presents: STRATEGIES FOR THE EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHER.
A special panel of very successful emerging photographers will give specifics on how they got their first jobs and structured (and more importantly, paid for) their first promotional efforts. They will discuss what they learned in school and what they wish they’d been taught as well as share career advice you won’t hear anywhere else. This Symposium will be moderated by Holly Hughes, Editor of Photo District News.

BIOGRAPHIES:
Kyle Alexander
A native of Texas, Kyle Alexander worked as a production assistant, photo assistant and producer before launching his career in photography. His photo clients include Nike, Foot Locker Quiksilver, Vans, Clos du Bois, O’Neill, Roxy and The Wall Street Journal.
Meiko Takechi Arquillos
A graduate of Sonoma State University, Meiko Takechi Arquillos became a photo assistant at the advice of teacher Todd Hido. After working as an assistant and studio manager, she began showing her work. Repped by Maren Levinson, she has shot assignments for editorial and advertising clients including Fortune, Fast Company, Nestle Waters and Paul Frank Industries.
JUCO
The photography duo JUCO (Julia Galdo and Cody Cloud) met as students at the San Francisco Art Institute. Their clients include Complex, Los Angeles and Teen Vogue magazines, and the ad agencies Saatchi & Saatchi and AKQA.
